Growing up in Hollywood, CA, Celena's 1st professional makeup training took place between the walls of Hollywood High School's Theatre Magnet Program. She continued on taking more training in film, stage, & fx makeup, as well as hair styling. Soon after graduating makeup school, she began working regularly for Good Morning America, 20/20, and many other national ABC News shows, implementing her skills on VIP politicians such as the Kennedys, the Gore family, the Clintons, President Carter and Ford. She regularly worked at the Oscars, and other exclusive interviews, applying makeup for many high profile celebrities. Celena has also filled her career with everything from editorial and ads for major magazines, fashion shows, commercials, music videos, television, and film. Celena made Portland her home in 2011, opening her own school in 2012 for professional makeup artistry, called The Art of Makeup School, which can still be found as an online course, as well as in person teen summer camps. In 2013 and 2015 she approached legislation, passing two bills, changing the law twice in Oregon to help create a thriving niche career in hair and makeup without requiring a cosmetology license.
