About

Sean Grasso is a documentary director and cinematographer based in Corvallis, Oregon, working across the Willamette Valley, the Oregon Coast, and Central & Eastern Oregon, with a specialty in character-driven work in rural and backcountry locations. He shoots documentary and commercial work for clients including Freethink, Microsoft, Guinness, and HP. His short documentary The Butterfly Lab won the Artistic Vision Award at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and was an official selection at Mountainfilm in Telluride. He began his career in 2012 making short portraits of craftspeople, several of them earned Vimeo Staff Picks. He is completing The Caldera, his first feature β€” an ITVS co-production following a rural Oregon community grappling with the development of one of the world's largest lithium deposits. The film premieres on the festival circuit in fall 2026 and broadcasts nationally on PBS in early 2027. He owns a full documentary camera & lighting package β€” Sony FX6, Sigma Art and G-Master glass, Aputure lighting and grip, Sanken and Sennheiser audio β€” and is FAA Part 107 certified for drone.
