As an award-winning documentary video editor, Sarah has a passion for socially responsible, character-driven stories that make her cry on her keyboard. She delights in the verité dance of truth and symbolism, and revels in the space where two things can be true– our sameness and our differences, our goodness and our evils. Documentary film is a ripe playground to explore those nuances, to climb inside of other people’s lives and expand awareness, reverence, and gratitude; to turn tenderness into a salve for a better world.
About
Sarah is a documentary editor with a penchant for character-driven stories, found ephemera, and ferris wheels.. The human inclination to process life through stories has been a vice since she was a kid. With roots in creative writing and a BS in Visual Journalism from Brooks Institute, Sarah’s favorite stories to tell are ones that dispel misunderstanding, shine compassion on humanity’s flaws, and remind the viewer of all the beauty amidst the mess. In addition to video editing, she is a multimedia collage artist and poet. You can often find her in Portland gazing out the window to get a better look at the flowers.
