Last, but definitely not least, is Haley McCoy.

Haley has now been working in the film industry for over four years. During that time, she’s had the chance to create her first short film, Echo. Though lighting is her usual passion, Echo reveals her true love for writing - especially stories with surprising twists. She hopes Echo will be the first entry in what becomes an anthology, with a second film in production soon.

Echo
Director: Haley McCoy
Logline: Two hikers veer off the path to find an amazing view, but it is quickly tarnished when they suddenly start hearing a familiar voice yelling at them.
Today we want to shine a light on our final two Cine|Seen finalists.

Starting off with writer/Director Alexandra Ramos is a Portland-based filmmaker with Southern roots. After moving to Oregon in 2018 for college, she developed her passion for telling women-led stories that center ethnic identities in front and behind the camera. Committed to making space for underrepresented voices, she builds majority women and diverse crews that reflect the stories she tells.

Drawing from her own experiences, Alexandra blends horror with real world narratives that are as socially resonant as they are enthralling. She aims to continue writing and directing stories that push the boundaries of the horror genre and amplify marginalized perspectives.

The Last Vampire in Portland
Director: Alexandra Ramos
Logline: The Last Vampire in Portland follows one weekend in the life of Anacaona, a pre-colonial Taino vampire, as she navigates the existential dread of modern life and the struggles of being a US resident.
