Join the Creatives of Color Oregon (COCO) initiative for a virtual screening of Help Solve a Murder. This powerful project, created by filmmaker and advocate Asianique Savage, is a six-part docuseries that centers on the Black mothers and families in Portland, OR fighting for justice in the face of unsolved gun violence.

Savage – who serves as the Director of Gun Violence Prevention at the Alliance for a Safe Oregon and is the Co-Founder of the non-profit Senseless Violence Leads to Silence – brings a deeply personal perspective to the screen, having lost both her mother and brother to violence.

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Savage to discuss the film’s mission, the role of community-led activism, and how we can collectively demand accountability in a broken system.

OMPA is dedicated to bringing the film community together across all of Oregon. We’re proud to participate in this Central Oregon meetup at Hi-Vis Studio in Bend later this month.
This even will take place at Hi Vis Studio – a space run by a collective of working professionals with a vision of bringing a level of excellence to the creative community in Central Oregon.
