As a small organization with a big mission, we’re looking to our community for input on which programs to prioritize. In order to support a […]Read More
I have almost 30 years of experience in the industry and this community. I am currently the Director of W+K Studios and Joint, which are Wieden + Kennedy’s production and post studios.
I have recruited and retained talent from around the world, who’ve made this community their home, and am passionate about and invested in the entire Oregon production ecosystem.
In addition to my background in production, I have branding and communication expertise, as well as business acumen and experience. I am familiar with AICP and most major advertiser production playbooks, as well as the entertainment union rules and protocols.
I’m an entrepreneur at heart, and look forward to applying that resourcefulness to advocating for the community.
Why are you interested in serving on OMPA’s Board of Directors? What’s your past involvement with OMPA?
This would be my 3rd term on the board! The first term felt like orientation—getting a sense of the community makeup and how OMPA was serving that community and industry; as well as learning the fundamentals of how the organization operated. Term two was identifying areas of growth and sustainability, and implementing action towards modernizing the organization. Year two of term two—2020—was disruptive, but ultimately forced focus on priorities. I feel we have evolved and engaged the board; but there is still a lot of work to be done.
I’m passionate and committed to the mission of OMPA and serving the community. I will work hard, and feel so much of what was started this year isn’t finished; and would love to follow through; and know I have the energy, commitment and vision to support bringing it to life.
What is your vision for OMPA and the community at large? How do you see yourself contributing to this vision?
An equitable organization that advocates for every facet of digital and media arts. For a freelance and small business based industry, we provide the necessary tools and glue that others find in large companies. We provide resources, consulting, camaraderie. OMPA needs to ensure we have an equitable, green and sustainable industry that pays a fair living wage and attracts the world’s best (and weirdest) talent and projects.
Ensure that OMPA is an advocate, working with politicians, the community and other stakeholders, to ensure a healthy and robust; clean and fair work environment for all.
