Keynote speakers Aaron James and Andrew Dickson of Mt. ABOUT ROSEMARY: Rosemary is Head of Legal and Business Affairs for ShadowMachine animation studio after over 7 years as General Counsel and Head of Legal and Business Affairs at LAIKA animation studio. She has an extensive background in intellectual property law, with an emphasis on copyright and entertainment issues, including film, music, television, video games, publishing and sports marketing. After practicing at 2 entertainment firms in LA, Rosemary relocated to Portland in 2006 and practiced with Stoel Rives and Tonkon Torp before going in-house. She has represented rockers, rappers, producers, movie studios, record labels, writers, athletes and athletics apparel companies as well as video game developers and publishers.
Rosemary received her B.A. from Seattle University and J.D. from Loyola Law School. She has served as the President of the Board for Live Wire, and has served on the boards of Keeping the Arts and the planning committee for the Portland Creative Conference. She IS currently Chair of the Board of Directors for Children’s Cancer Association and sits on the Board of Directors for Mt. Scott Learning Centers.

ABOUT ANDREW: Andrew Dickson is a copywriter and creative consultant who’s written Old Spice ads, came up with the 7 Wonders of Oregon and was a director of the WK12 experimental ad school. He’s also hosts storytelling shows for the Moth and is an semi-professional auctioneer. He’s been freelancing since leaving a 7 year stint at Wieden+Kennedy Portland in 2014.
ABOUT AARON: Aaron James is an art director that has had the pleasure of freelancing for W+K, CPB+, Kamp Grizzly, TBWA Chiat Day, Publicis, AKQA, Ogilvy, BBDO and others. He’s recently created digital projects and films for Adidas, Patagonia, TOMS and Nike. He is co-owner of a soccer magazine called Howler and an instructional baseball coaching site called The Hitting Vault.

ABOUT CDAVID: I’ve been based in the Pacific NW since 2005. First in Spokane, WA and now Portland, OR. Prior to this was a wonderful, 18-year stint as a Props Designer, Art Director & crew member for Theatre, TV Commercials, & Feature Films in Philadelphia, PA. I bring to the table 30 years in the Entertainment Biz & 27 years as a Property Master & Art Director.
I am currently the Southern Business Agent of IATSE Local 488. I have been a member of the Executive Board since 2010; elected Vice President in 2016 and put in charge of New Membership. I rewrote our Member Handbook and created an online Member Orientation Program. In 2016 I instigated the creation of a training program for members and have served as the Training Coordinator since its inception.
ABOUT MICHELLE: Michelle Damis is an actress, stunt performer, and a leader in business. She recently took office as the new Portland local SAG-AFTRA President and is determined to see the film and media industry grow in Oregon and the PNW.

ABOUT JUSTINE: Justine Avera is a Commercial Lines Producer with over 25 years experience specializing in Film, Arts and Entertainment insurance, and Intellectual Property insurance. She is an artist and photographer living in SE Portland, and ran a commercial photography business from 2008-2016. As a small business owner herself, she understands the needs of her clients and how each business is truly unique requiring tailored insurance solutions. She has served on non-profit boards and is committed to sustainability and community development.
In 2018, she began work on her very first documentary project chronicling her family’s journey resisting the rise of Nazi Germany and surviving the bombing of Dresden. She blames her frequent contact with the active arts and film community for her dive into this endeavor.
ABOUT JEFFREY: Jeff is president of FilmProfit, LLC, the co-author of FilmProfit software, and author of The FilmProfit Guide to Film Distribution Deals. Jeff has acted as an expert witness for studios and independent producers, and as an expert resource for Hollywood Reporter, Fortune Magazine, The Philadelphia Enquirer and The Black Film Report, among others. He contributed to The Independent Film and Videomaker’s Guide (2nd ed.) and to the Independent Filmmaker’s Guide to Writing a Business Plan for Investors (1st and 2nd ed.). Jeff has provided business and strategic planning for well over 100 motion picture projects, as well as analytics services for hundreds more, with budgets ranging from the micro level to high-budget international studio co-productions like last summer’s The Meg.
ABOUT STEPHANIE: Portland creative Stephanie Salvey is currently a Producer/Line Producer on 3 feature films in OR, WA, & CA and has successfully led the pitch and distribution negotiations for 6 other feature-length films. She specializes in public relations & pitch, communications, negotiations, business plans & budgets, content messaging for funding, and project coordination from development through release.
Stephanie brings two decades of entertainment industry experience with her legal, creative, & business executive expertise from her variety of roles such as: nightclub owner, legal facilitator, music promoter, business paralegal, band manager, accountant, record label staffer, booking agent, and public relations/marketing strategist. She is an accomplished business & legal writer and music journalist.

ABOUT GARETT: Garett Stenson is Partner and Head of Strategy at Revery, a Creative Production & Storytelling Studio. In his role, Garett wears many hats including leading creative/strategy for Fortune 100 clients and startups alike, as well as defining and developing the studio’s operating system across marketing, production, finance, and operations. Prior to joining Revery, Garett spent a decade running a story-driven product design company called db clay, followed by stints at two design and innovation consultancies.

ABOUT TIM: Tim Williams has been both an executive and independent producer for more than 25 years and has partnered on projects with many companies in various capacities and locations with credits on many award-winning titles. From 1998 to 2011 Williams was a partner, Co-President and Head of Production for GreeneStreet Films, a leading New York based independent film company. While there, he was involved in the production of nearly 30 features, producing or executive producing most of their projects. Latterly, he managed the company’s opening and running of their Los Angeles office followed by work with companies like Fox Searchlight and Film Finances. Williams started his career as a set production assistant and assistant director in New York on features, commercials and TV shows, and then worked for several years producing and directing new plays on the London Fringe in the UK.
